Bangladesh Tour of Pakistan Postponed? Latest Update
The Bangladesh team is scheduled to tour Pakistan this month to play five T20Is. However, the tour may be postponed due to the India-Pakistan conflict, according to Pakistan's Geo News. Beyond the question of whether the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send a team to Pakistan in the current situation, the reality of the PCB is coming to the fore.
In the meantime, the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been shifted to the United Arab Emirates. Although the date is not final, the matches may be completed this month. And to do that, the Bangladesh-Pakistan T20 series starting on May 25 will have to be postponed.
The Bangladesh team is scheduled to visit Pakistan on May 21. Before that, this season of the PSL is scheduled to end on May 18. However, after the drone attack in the Rawalpindi Stadium area, the tournament has been postponed as organizing the PSL in Pakistan has become risky.
Citing sources, Geo News said that it may take up to a week to start the PSL matches in the United Arab Emirates. This is because there are various logistical issues including broadcasting to be transferred. Naturally, the Bangladesh-Pakistan series will start when the remaining 8 matches of the PSL are over.
The five-match T20 series is part of the ICC's Future Tour Programme (FTP). In the meantime, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has also announced a 15-member squad with Liton Das as the captain. The Bangladesh team is scheduled to leave Dhaka on May 14 for the Pakistan tour. The BCB had added two T20Is against the United Arab Emirates in Dubai before reaching Pakistan on May 21.
Now, if the Pakistan tour is postponed or postponed, the Litons' tour to the Emirates will also be in doubt. Because the schedule for the UAE was made with the idea that two matches could be played on the way to Dubai.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not yet officially said anything about the postponement of the tour. BCB President Farooq Ahmed said that a final decision will be taken in this regard in a meeting with the directors tomorrow.
