Did Kohli Know People Were Dying Outside the Stadium?

There is a saying that Nero was playing the flute while Rome was burning.

Symbolically, some can say that while people were being trampled to death outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli was celebrating inside!

Many people know what happened yesterday on the streets of Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. For the first time in the 18-year history of the IPL, the city's team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, became champions, which is also Kohli's first IPL title.

After such an achievement, it is natural that Bengaluru fans were extra excited. So, people of all ages, from children to the elderly, came out on the streets to welcome the champion team. But the joy of the Bengaluru people turned into sadness when 11 people lost their lives and at least 50 were injured in a stampede in the rush.

Although this tragic incident was the top headline in all the Indian media yesterday, Virat Kohli -Patidar-Krunal-Salt continued the celebration at their ground as usual, just like 'Show Must Go On'. Many are blaming the Bengaluru owners for this, and also blaming Virat Kohli .

But former Indian pacer Atul Wasson claims that the news that people were dying outside the stadium did not reach Virat Kohli immediately. If he had known, he would have stopped the celebration.

Atul told news agency ANI, 'I believe that if Virat Kohli and the other players of his team knew that people were dying outside, they would have stopped the reception ceremony immediately.'

Atul Wasson also gave his reaction to another news agency PTI about the Bengaluru tragedy, 'If Virat Kohl  had known what was happening outside, he would have come out immediately. Then such an incident would not have happened.’

Wasan, who played 4 Tests and 9 ODIs for India, claimed that only politicians and people from the corporate world are able to continue the program despite the heartbreaking incident, ‘I can confirm the relationship between politicians and corporates, they are ruthless and their skin is thick. RCB franchise is also like that. Franchisees do not care about these things. Because, they have to show detailed accounts of their expenses and income. They might have known (about the external situation). There was clearly a lack of communication here.’

That Virat Kohli  really came to know about the tragic incident very late, was understood in his post on social media much later than the incident, after 11 pm. The legendary India and Bangalore batsman wrote, ‘I am speechless. I am in no condition to speak. I am very scared.’
