Former Bangladesh team coach Chandika Hathurusingha has opened up about the dramatic removal of Farooq Ahmed from the post of BCB president. Referring to his departure from Bangladesh, she said that transparency, process and respect are always important on and off the field.

Hathurusingha, who served as the head coach of the Bangladesh team for two terms, was dismissed in October last year. Farooq had taken the BCB president's chair two months earlier.

After the political change in August, Farooq Ahmed became the BCB director on the nomination of the National Sports Council (NSC). He was elected president on August 21. After more than 9 months, the NSC canceled Farooq's nomination for the post of director on May 29. The previous day, 8 BCB directors had sent a letter of no-confidence against him to the NSC.

In the letter, various allegations were made against Farooq, including arbitrariness. Among them was the allegation that Hathurusingha was dismissed unilaterally without consulting anyone. On Thursday night, when the NSC rejected Farooq's nomination, he was automatically removed from the post of BCB president.

Hathurusingha shared the news of Farooq's removal on LinkedIn with . Posting the news on his account on the professionals' platform, the former Bangladesh team coach wrote, "My departure is now part of a larger story - that's what the ESPN Cricinfo report says."

He then wrote, "In this way, I want my work to speak for me. However, in recent events, my name has come into the discussion again in Bangladesh cricket. According to a Cricinfo report, one of the reasons behind the BCB president's removal was the method of my dismissal, where the decision was taken without proper consultation with the board.' In the last part of the article, the coach, who is based in Australia, wrote, 'Transparency, process and respect - whether on or off the field - are very important values.'

On October 17, the BCB terminated Hathurusingha's contract citing misconduct and violation of employment rules. The next day, after leaving Dhaka, Hathurusingha raised questions about the dismissal process in a written statement sent to the media.
