Jonny Bairstow - Man of the Arrangement

Jonny Bairstow says they would have wanted to wind up on the winning side, especially on the first ODI, where he might have got a 100 and took his side home. States they know how troublesome it is in India, he didn't have a great Test arrangement yet did well in the white-ball format and he is now looking forward to the Indian T20 League. Adds he felt that batting outside off is a better way to tackle Bhuvneshwar Kumar however it didn't fall off. Credits the way Sam Curran played and said it was a special knock from him yet Natarajan amazed a brilliant last. Closures by saying everyone knows what Natarajan does at the death and it is about him executing it.

Musings, Jos?

Jos Buttler, the English captain, says it was a fantastic game and that the two sides made some mistakes and also played some fantastic cricket. Adds that Sam Curran played a brilliant knock however he congratulates India for winning the arrangement. Mentions they are disappointed, they wanted to win, they have played some good cricket however they will learn a lot, the white-ball leg has been incredible and today was no different. States for the young guys, it is going to be a great experience and they can learn a lot from this experience. Admits it is a fantastic wicket and this ground is hard to defend when a batter gets in, he feels they didn't bowl that well at the start and they couldn't fabricate partnerships which was important if they somehow managed to chase this down. Closures by saying they know they bat deep yet it was an amazing effort from Curran, he showed great possession and responsibility yet he will be disappointed he didn't take them over the line however he will learn a lot.

Story of the first innings!

Earlier in the day, after being inserted, the Indians got off to a flier kindness of their openers who set up a 100-run stand. They lost a few wickets rapidly however Pant's and Hardik's partnership once again reversed the situation in India's favor. England however did brilliantly to hold them to 330. In any case, despite Sam Curran's heroics, that 330 has demonstrated to be enough.

Bhuvi and Gabbar are down for a chat...

Bhuvneshwar Kumar says that it was very tense at the end and as a bowler, you are always under tension and there was also a bit of dew. Says that he wasn't too stressed by the boundaries hit by Roy and Bairstow as he realized that they were off the good balls and then he bowled in-swingers to get the wickets. Finishes by saying that he is looking forward to the Indian T20 League and he is happy to make it through the arrangement fit and fine.

Shikhar Dhawan starts by saying that he was always ready and once he got the chance to play, he made the most of it. Adds that he played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Prize and Vijay Hazare Prize and that really helped him. Finishes by saying that this is a very good batting surface.

Bowling kept their cool!

India started off wonderfully with the ball as they applied the pressure and didn't allow the English batters to off the snare, as they have been so far in this arrangement. They kept picking wickets regularly and it seemed as though the game would be an easier win for them, based on the way they played. England were at 200/7, when the Indian bowlers didn't have any answers to the couple of Rashid and Sam Curran first, and then Curran towards the end, yet they held their nerve and took the Men in Blue over the line. As it has been in this arrangement, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was their star as he set the pace, picking two wickets very early on, and he wound up with 3 wickets too. Thakur too was good and finished with 4 scalps to his name.

All about Sam Curran!

Exactly when you figured India would go through the remaining batters of England, Sam Curran started playing smartly and attempted to hoard the strike, to dispatch the helpless balls and regard the good ones. He did whatever he could and took the Title holders so close to the cusp of wonder, yet unfortunate for them, they just missed out. Nevertheless, this has been a brilliant display by the visitors, and credit to them, for making a game out of this clash, and taking this game right to the wire.

Two good stands helped England!

It was then that the couple of Livingstone and Malan combined forces and looked good, as they kept the runs rolling and ensured that they at least got a boundary in every finished. They added a 60-run stand and were looking very dangerous before Liam blessing wrapped his wicket to Thakur. India detected the entryway being ajar and pushed their way in and got freed of Malan and Moeen after that. There was another partnership between Rashid and Curran, where they added 57-runs before a brilliant catch by Kohli meant the stopping point for Adil's innings.

A messy start!

Chasing a total in the 300 or more ranges means that you need a solid start with the bat, which England have been getting in this arrangement so far however after a blazing start where Roy got 14 runs off the first 5 balls in the first finished, he tumbled to a beauty of a delivery by Bhuvi. His partner, Bairstow followed him soon after, and the openers who had been troubling India in the first 2 games, were both back for low scores. Stokes was handed a lifeline when Hardik dropped him, however he too departed soon and Jos Buttler didn't have any impact with the bat in hand. England's top order were back without doing much.

What a game of cricket this has been. India seemed as though they had 9 out of their 10 fingers on the prize before Sam Curran chose to take matters into his own hands. He ensured that England came so very close and at one point, you could almost see Curran grabbing the prize from the Indians however some good death bowling by the Indians sees them win the game by 7 runs and also the arrangement by 2-1! A fitting finish to a great tour
