Former cricketer Shahriar Nafees is ending his playing career in cricket. He officially announced his retirement on Saturday (February 13th). His wife Ishita Nafis shared a lot of unknown things in an emotional status on social media Facebook on Friday (February 12). For the readers of Samaynews, Ishita's status has been highlighted exactly-
‘Many times I have heard people say that the wives of cricketers are gold diggers. It is true, luxury cars, lots of jewelery and clothes, all these are available together if you marry a cricketer who regularly eats in reputed restaurants, especially if he is a national team cricketer.
But there are probably a few more things available besides these gift packages. About 2006, when I married shahriar nafees. He was the opening batsman and co-captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He was a rising star in the Bangladesh national team and one of the most promising players in world cricket. Our journey was no less dreamy than Josh Raj's film set in Switzerland.
But the reality is, there have been some different experiences inside. After 6-7 months of marriage, my husband dropped out of the central contract. There was no salary, there was no BPL and there was nothing good in DPL at that time. We didn't know how to handle everything. With her was the cost of my education, her education and our first child born. But I have to thank my parents, who were always by our side. In no way did they leave us and let us break down.
After 14 years of marriage, I am now a lawyer, a teacher, the mother of her children and the man who always stood by her in her ups and downs. I was by his side every day, the day he returned home with a century or failed miserably.
Sometimes people give me full credit for his achievements, sometimes they blame me for his failures. I always believe that we will get what we have in our fortunes. I saw him depressed, but not broken. Good day and never lose hope of positivity.
I have always seen him applaud for Team Bangladesh and his teammates. Even when he was not part of the team. He is a man of true honesty, generosity and truthfulness. This is Shahriar Nafis. I am proud of my husband, proud to be a part of his journey. It doesn't matter how successful he is.
This era is coming to an end tomorrow (Saturday). A new beginning of life is waiting for him. I pray to God to make his path smooth and easy. I also pray that his name will be written in gold letters in Bangladesh cricket.
